Sin mantenimiento de viales en Orihuela Costa desde el pasado mes de febrero, no hay fecha para que el servicio vuelva a funcionar. Así se desprende de las declaraciones de Victor Valverde, portavoz popular, en el pleno extraordinario celebrado el miércoles 14 de mayo donde el edil encargado manifestó su intención de que la nueva empresa municipal comience antes de verano, sin concretara fecha o comprometerse a ella.

A pesar de los problemas existentes en los viales de la costa (calles, aceras, carriles bici señalización) , tal y como ha sido denunciado por los vecinos en numerosas ocasiones, problemas que el propio gobierno municipal admite, los tramites administrativos retrasan, una vez más, el inicio de la encomienda.

Dicho contrato, que otorga el servicio a una empresa municipal, se votó junto con la nueva contrata a la misma empresa de la recogida de residuos en todo el municipio y se aprobó con los votos favorables del PP y VOX, en contra del PSOE y Ciudadanos y la abstención de Cambiemos, que argumentaron en contra el procedimiento, la contratación de gestores afines al Partido Popular por un importe anual de 210.000 euros y que el contrato no garantiza las condiciones laborales de los trabajadores que debe subrogar la nueva empresa.

El portavoz popular, Victor Valverde, manifestó su intención de que la empresa comience antes del periodo estival, sin concretar plazo, lo que motivo la critica de los grupos de la oposición que achacaron el retraso a la gestión del equipo de gobierno. “Lo sabían desde octubre – que el contrato finalizaba en febrero de 2025 – y no han sido capaces de actuar”, dijo la portavoz de Cambiemos, Letizia Pertegal, que acusó al gobierno municipal del PP y VOX de incapacidad.

Valverde, concejal de infraestructuras, “es uno de los contratos a los que se va a dar mayor prioridad”

Según Valverde, concejal de infraestructuras, el nuevo contrato de viales de la costa va a suponer un incremento de algo más de medio millón de euros ( de 778.000 a 1.322.000 euros) en la aportación municipal lo que,en su opinión, mejorara el servicio. El edil aseguró que la gestión de viales de la costa “es uno de los contratos a los que se va a dar mayor prioridad para su puesta en marcha, para que los trabajadores puedan volver a trabajar y el servicio se restablezca lo antes posible a la ciudad de aquella parte”.

Las ventajas del contrato son, según el gobierno municipal, una mayor flexibilidad, agilidad, liberar a los trabajadores de la casa para otras tareas y mejorar las condiciones laborales de los trabajadores que prestan este servicio. Victor Valverde informó que, a pesar del incremento en la dotación para el mantenimiento de viales, la nueva empresa va a ahorrar 600.000 euros anuales. Por todo ello “van a trabajar para que todo mejore y en eso vamos a poner todo nuestro empeño”.

Letizia Pertegal de cambiemos: “lo sabían desde octubre y no han sido capaces de hacer nada”

Abrió el fuego de la critica política a la gestión municipal la portavoz de Cambiemos, Letizia Pertegal. La edil aseguro que el gobierno municipal sabia desde octubre del año pasado que la suspensión del contrato de viales para la costa iba a suceder en febrero “y no han sido capaces de actuar, no han hecho nada. Tienen a los trabajadores sin trabajar y sin cobrar desde entonces por lo que no entiendo las prisas con las que vamos, ya que se podía haber solucionado este problema mucho antes y de mejor manera”.

Pertegal aseguró que la verdad de todo esto aún no ha salido a la luz. “ Lo que hay que contar es que si se vota a favor, se esta votando que el nuevo gerente, militante del PP y antiguo dirigente del partido – Damaso Aparicio – cobre 110.000 euros, mas otros 110.000 euros para el nuevo jefe de servicio que todavía no sabemos quien es. El pueblo de Orihuela no tiene porque estar pagando un sueldo que va a costar más que el alcalde”.

Ciudadanos: un chiringuito para apañar favores políticos en el Partido Popular

Para el portavoz de Ciudadanos, Jose Aix, la nueva gestión no supone, en realidad, ninguna novedad: “estamos cambiando una gestión desde el ayuntamiento a una empresa municipal por lo que va a seguir funcionando de la misma manera. Es exactamente lo mismo que se esta haciendo ahora”. Aix acusó el portavoz a VOX de mirar para otro lado sobre la forma de gestión mixta que ahora se propone: “aquellos que venían a acabar con los chiringuitos ahora apoyan el mayor chiringuito que tenemos en Orihuela”.

Para Ciudadanos el nombramiento de Damaso Aparicio como nuevo gerente a razón de 110.000 anules es “un reparto de sueldos dentro del PP. Quitaron a Aparicio al frente del PP de Orihuela para ponerle a usted de alcalde, refiriendose a Vegara, pero hay que seguir equilibrando fuerzas y votos, que es lo que llevan haciendo muchos años. Lo cierto es que llevan lamentando las maldades de Orihuela, cuando el principal problema que tiene Orihuela son ustedes”, dirigiendose a Valverde, el alcalde Vegara y al teniente de alcalde de VOX, concejal de la costa, Manuel Mestre.

Carolina Gracia (PSOE): “a los trabajadores les falta llevar a la escoba de casa”

La portavoz socialista fue especialmente critica con el abandono de los trabajadores de la antigua contrata de viales que llevan sin cobrar desde el pasado mes de febrero, pero también , lo que a su juicio es un encubrimiento de la intención del partido popular de privatizar el servicio. Para Gracia, que fue alcaldesa en el 2012 cuando se comenzó la gestión publica de la gestión de residuos, la encomienda a la nueva empresa mixta municipal no es más que un paso previo para justificar la privatización.

La portavoz socialista pidió perdón a los trabajadores de viales presentes en la sala, que llevan sin trabajo desde febrero, por votar en contra y agradeció su paciencia, aunque justifico el voto en contra al no poder avalar la contratación de Damaso Aparicio – exdirigente del PP oriolano – con un sueldo impropio de sus futuras labores.

Lamento la precariedad de los trabajadores que se van a subrogar en la nueva empres, “solo les falta llevar la escoba de casa”, llego a afirmar, y vaticino que, desgraciadamente, la misma flexibilidad que hay para contratar la va a haber para despedir.

Respecto a los plazos para comenzar el servicio critico que, a pesar de que no hay servicio de mantenimiento desde febrero, el gobierno municipal no ha sido capaz de concretar cuando se va a restablecer para atender el servicio en la costa.

No date for road maintenance to start in Orihuela Costa.

With no maintenance of roads in Orihuela Costa since last February, there is no date for the service to start up again. This contract, which grants the service to a municipal company, was voted together with the new contract to the same company for waste collection throughout the municipality and was approved with the votes in favour of the PP and VOX, against the PSOE and Ciudadanos and the abstention of Cambiemos, who argued against the procedure, the hiring of managers related to the Popular Party for an annual amount of 210,000 euros and that the contract does not guarantee the working conditions of the workers who must be subrogated to the new company.

For all these reasons ‘they are going to work to improve everything and we are going to put all our efforts into this’.

Letizia Pertegal of Cambiemos: ‘they have known about it since October and have not been able to do anything’.

The spokesperson for Cambiemos, Letizia Pertegal, opened the fire of political criticism of the municipal government. The councillor assured that the municipal government had known since October last year that the suspension of the contract for the coastal roads was going to happen in February ‘and they have not been able to act, they have done nothing. They have had the workers out of work and without pay since then, so I don’t understand their haste, as this problem could have been solved much earlier and in a better way’.

Pertegal assured that the truth of all this has not yet come to light. ‘What has to be said is that if you vote in favour, you are voting for the new manager, a PP militant and former party leader – Damaso Aparicio – to receive 110,000 euros, plus another 110,000 euros for the new head of service, who we still don’t know who he is.The people of Orihuela do not have to be paying a salary that is going to cost more than the mayor.

Ciudadanos: a chiringuito for political favours in the Popular Party

For the Ciudadanos spokesman, Jose Aix, the new management does not really mean anything new: ‘we are changing management from the town hall to a municipal company so it will continue to function in the same way. It is exactly the same as what is being done now’. Aix accused VOX of looking the other way on the form of mixed management that is now proposed: ‘those who came to end the chiringuitos now support the biggest chiringuito we have in Orihuela’.

For Ciudadanos the appointment of Damaso Aparicio as new manager at a rate of 110,000 annules is ‘a distribution of salaries within the PP. They removed Aparicio as head of the PP in Orihuela to put you as mayor, referring to Vegara, but they have to continue balancing forces and votes, which is what they have been doing for many years.

Carolina Gracia (PSOE): ‘the workers need to take the broom from home’.

He regretted the precariousness of the workers who will be subrogated to the new company, ‘they only need to carry the broom from home’, he said, and predicted that, unfortunately, the same flexibility that exists for hiring will also exist for dismissal.

With regard to the deadlines for starting the service, he criticised the fact that, despite the fact that there has been no maintenance service since February, the municipal government has not been able to specify when the service will be reestablished on the coast.
