La moción de Ciudadanos, que no fue aprobada por el voto contrario del equipo de gobierno (PP-VOX), fue apoyada por el PSOE de Orihuela y Cambiemos Orihuela. En el debate, el portavoz de Cś, José Aix, manifestó que los vecinos de Orihuela Costa y Pedanías pueden sentirse ciudadanos de segunda a consecuencia de la falta de servicios que sufre cualquier núcleo de población que no sea Orihuela centro.

Aix se mostró orgulloso de ser natural y vivir en una pedanía, y recordó el programa electoral del Partido Popular donde se prometía “aumentar el personal y crear nuevas oficinas”. En opinión del edil de Ciudadanos, la acción del equipo de gobierno ha ido en sentido contrario ya que ha recortado servicios, cerrado oficinas y restringido las horas de atención al ciudadano. “Los que residimos en pedanías o la costa deberíamos poder sentirnos ciudadanos de primera de igual manera que lo son los vecinos del centro».

Por su parte, la concejala Letizia Pertegal de Cambiemos Orihuela, se sumo a la moción reclamando específicamente más oficinas municipales en Orihuela Costa, en atención a la dispersión del núcleo urbano y la distancia que hay de una punta a otra de los distritos costeros. También reclamó la apertura de mas oficinas de atención pública, al menos, en la pedanías más importantes del municipio.

A traves de su portavoz, Luis Quesada, el PSOE de Orihuela denuncio “el abandono absoluto en el que están las pedanias y Orihuela Costa” cuyos ciudadanos pagan igual sus impuestos igual que todos por lo que el gobierno municipal debería dejar de mirar a otro lado: «Merecen un gobierno que cumpla,no que solo prometa”

Todos los grupos de la oposición advirtieron al equipo de gobierno sobre la creciente desafección de los vecinos de la costa y las pedanías respecto a Orihuela, tal y como se puede comprobar n los medios de comunicación y las redes sociales.

The motion, which was not approved due to the opposing vote of the government team, was supported by PSOE Orihuela and Cambiemos Orihuela. For her part, Councillor Letizia Pertegal of Cambiemos Orihuela, joined the motion specifically calling for more municipal offices in Orihuela Costa, in view of the dispersion of the urban nucleus and the distance from one end of the coastal districts to the other. The PSOE of Orihuela denounced ‘the absolute abandonment of the pedanias and Orihuela Costa’ whose citizens pay the same taxes as everyone else and the municipal government should stop looking the other way. ‘They deserve a government that delivers, not just promises’

All the opposition groups warned the government team about the growing disaffection of the residents of the coast and the pedanias with Orihuela, as can be seen in the media and social networks.
