La recién elegida presidenta de Unidos x la Costa, María José Sánchez, ha manifestado a orihuelacostalibre su apoyo a los profesores, trabajadores y padres del colegio Nº20 de Orihuela Costa es su demanda de más medios “por las dificultades que están padeciendo” al inicio de este, su primer curso completo con el centro educativo ya colapsado.

Para la nueva presidenta de Unidos X la Costa “ es una lamentable realidad la que están soportando y sufriendo las familias con niños en edad escolar del colegio Nº20 de la costa”. María José Sánchez cree que “la solución para solucionar el hacinamiento no es instalar más barracones en las zonas de recreo de los niños sino construir lo más rápido posible un nuevo colegio que atienda las necesidades crecientes de la costa”.

Respecto a las instalaciones, Sánchez asegura que ya se comunico al ayuntamiento que los barracones no “era lugar para los niños y niñas, cuando nos vendieron las magnificas y grandiosas instalaciones que se estaban inaugurando”.

Hace unos días, el Sindicato de Trabajadores de la Educación del País Valenciano (STEPV) manifestó sus quejas por la saturación del recién inaugurado colegio de Orihuela Costa que en apenas unos meses ha ocupado todas sus plazas con un notable déficit de infraestructuras y medios.

Los educadores del colegio denunciaron la pretensión de instalar más barracones para habilitar una tercera linea (tres clases por curso) ya que reduce notablemente el espacio de recreo de los alumnos. También la falta de monitores de comedor y profesores de apoyo cuando una parte importante del nuevo alumnado es de origen extranjero con necesidades lingüisticas urgentes. Así mismo, que el número de alumnos por clase supera con mucho la ratio legal lo que dificulta aún más la labor educativa.

Nuevo colegio de “ladrillo” frustrado por la “malísima gestión municipal”

La portavoz vecinal se pregunta como se presentó a la Generalit un solar que no cumple con las exigencias legales para su construcción, “ ¿como no fueron capaces de informarse de las condiciones necesarias para que fuera aceptado por las autoridades educativas del gobierno autonómico”, refiriéndose a la negativa comunicada hace una semana sel Consell a construir el nuevo colegio de Orihuela Costa en el solar propuesto por el gobierno municipal de PP-VOX.

Dicho solar incumple cuatro de los diez requisitos necesarios que marca la ley educativa valenciana. “¿Y ahora qué, vuelta a empezar después de un año perdido ? – se pregunta Sánchez -. Si no están cualificados ni preparados para gestionar las competencias recibidas que dejen paso a otros”.

Para la presidenta de Unidos x la Costa el crecimiento exponencial de residentes en la costa hay que atenderlo, “no se puede dirigir una gran ciudad desde un pequeño municipio, con recortes y sobras. Cuando el dinero que se obtiene en la Costa no se invierte en la Costa, comienzan los problemas. Los vecinos se alejan cada vez más de aquellos que intentan aprovecharse de ellos”.

The newly elected president of Unidos x la Costa, María José Sánchez, has expressed her support to orihuelacostalibre for the teachers, workers and parents of School No. 20 in Orihuela Costa in their demand for more resources ‘due to the difficulties they are experiencing’ at the start of this, their first full academic year with the school already at capacity.

María José Sánchez believes that ‘the solution to overcrowding is not to install more prefabricated buildings in the children’s playgrounds, but to build a new school as quickly as possible to meet the growing needs of the coast’.

With regard to the facilities, Sánchez assures that she has already informed the council that the prefabricated buildings were not ‘a place for children, when they sold us the magnificent and grandiose facilities that were being inaugurated’.

A few days ago, the Valencian Country Education Workers’ Union (STEPV) expressed its complaints about the saturation of the newly opened school in Orihuela Costa, which in just a few months has filled all its places with a notable deficit in infrastructure and resources.

The school’s educators denounced the plan to install more prefabricated buildings to enable a third stream (three classes per year group), as this significantly reduces the pupils’ playground space. They also pointed out the lack of dining hall monitors and support teachers, given that a significant proportion of the new students are of foreign origin with urgent language needs. Furthermore, the number of students per class far exceeds the legal ratio, which makes the educational task even more difficult.

New ‘brick’ school frustrated by ‘terrible municipal management’

The neighbourhood spokesperson wonders how a site that does not meet the legal requirements for construction was presented to the Generalitat, ‘how were they unable to find out about the conditions necessary for it to be accepted by the autonomous government’s educational authorities’, referring to the refusal communicated a week ago by the Consell to build the new school in Orihuela Costa on the site proposed by the PP-VOX municipal government.

This site fails to meet four of the ten requirements set out in Valencian education law. ‘What now, back to square one after a wasted year?’ asks Sánchez. ‘If they are not qualified or prepared to manage the powers they have been given, they should make way for others.’

For the president of Unidos x la Costa, the exponential growth of residents on the coast must be addressed. ‘You cannot run a large city from a small municipality, with cutbacks and leftovers. When the money earned on the coast is not invested in the coast, problems begin. Residents are increasingly distancing themselves from those who try to take advantage of them.’
