El Ayuntamiento de Orihuela, a través de la Concejalía de Residuos Sólidos Urbanos, iniciará en el mes de junio la distribución de 758 nuevos contenedores por todo el municipio con el objetivo de mejorar la contenerización y fomentar la recogida selectiva de residuos. Esta actuación ha sido adjudicada por un importe de 690.000 euros (IVA incluido).
La concejala de Residuos Sólidos Urbanos, Rocio Ortuño, ha destacado que “esta renovación responde a la necesidad de adaptar nuestro sistema de recogida de residuos a los nuevos objetivos marcados por la legislación estatal y el Plan Local de Residuos, y supone un paso importante hacia un modelo más eficiente, limpio y comprometido con el reciclaje”.
432 contenedores de reciclaje y 326 para el resto de usos
Los nuevos contenedores corresponden a modelos de carga lateral y carga superior. En concreto, el suministro incluye: Modelo Rotourban (carga lateral): -80 unidades para envases (tapa fija amarilla) -140 unidades para papel-cartón (tapa fija azul) -326 unidades para fracción resto (tapa sin contacto, color gris). Modelo Rotoglobe (carga superior): -80 unidades para envases -132 unidades para papel-cartón
Todos los contenedores estarán personalizados con vinilos identificativos de fracción en castellano y el escudo del Ayuntamiento termoimpreso.
Con esta actuación, el municipio incorporará un total de 432 nuevos contenedores destinados al reciclaje (envases y papel-cartón) y 326 para la fracción resto, reforzando así la recogida selectiva en origen y el cumplimiento de los objetivos medioambientales.
Ortuño ha recordado que “la nueva Ley de Residuos de 2022, aprobada por el Gobierno, no sólo ha obligado a los ayuntamientos a modificar y subir la tasa de residuos, sino que además impone un nuevo impuesto de 30 euros por tonelada de rechazo que en el caso de Orihuela supone un coste anual de cerca de un millón de euros”.
La concejala ha añadido que en los próximos días se formalizará la adjudicación de otro lote, correspondiente a contenedores de carga trasera, por un importe de licitación de 110.000 euros. Este lote incluye 877 unidades que también comenzarán a llegar a finales de junio o principios de julio, completando así el proceso de renovación del parque de contenerización del municipio.
Orihuela Town Hall assures that the new bins will be distributed from June onwards
The Orihuela Town Council, through the Department of Solid Urban Waste, will begin the distribution of 758 new containers throughout the municipality in June with the aim of improving containerisation and promoting selective waste collection. The contract has been awarded for 690,000 euros (VAT included).
The councillor for Urban Solid Waste, Rocio Ortuño, stressed that ‘this renovation responds to the need to adapt our waste collection system to the new objectives set by state legislation and the Local Waste Plan, and represents an important step towards a more efficient, cleaner model committed to recycling’.
432 recycling bins and 326 for other uses
The new containers are side-loading and top-loading models. Specifically, the supply includes: Rotourban model (side-loading): -80 units for packaging (fixed yellow lid) -140 units for paper and cardboard (fixed blue lid) -326 units for residual waste (non-contact lid, grey). Rotoglobe model (top loading): -80 units for packaging -132 units for paper-cardboard.
All the containers will be personalised with vinyl identifying the fraction in Spanish and the City Council’s coat of arms heat-printed on them.
With this action, the municipality will incorporate a total of 432 new containers for recycling (packaging and paper-cardboard) and 326 for the remaining fraction, thus reinforcing selective collection at source and compliance with environmental objectives.
Ortuño recalled that ‘the new Waste Law of 2022, approved by the Government, has not only forced the councils to modify and raise the waste tax, but also imposes a new tax of 30 euros per tonne of waste, which in the case of Orihuela means an annual cost of nearly one million euros’.
The councillor added that in the next few days the award of another lot, corresponding to rear loading containers, will be formalised for a tender amounting to 110,000 euros. This batch includes 877 units which will also begin to arrive at the end of June or beginning of July, thus completing the process of renewing the municipality’s containerisation fleet.
