La concejalía de Seguridad Ciudadana ha anunciado una inversión de casi 600.000 para la mejora de señalización, principalmente semáforos, de los cuales 60.000 vendrán para la costa. Según el ayuntamiento “el proyecto incluirá la instalación de señales autónomas LED de precaución en pasos de peatones, así como señales de límite de velocidad en las vías principales”. Para el partido por la Independencia de la Costa (PIOC) es un síntoma más de “como nos trata Orihuela”

Según la nota de prensa emitida por el aŕea de Seguridad Ciudadana que preside la concejala del PP, Mónica Pastor Felices, “estas señales de alta visibilidad y bajo consumo mejorarán la seguridad en puntos críticos, especialmente en zonas con alta afluencia peatonal y tránsito turístico. La medida beneficiará tanto a peatones como a conductores, reforzando la prevención de accidentes”.

Inversión de 587.270 para todo Orihuela

La concejalía de Seguridad Ciudadana ha sacado a licitación por 584.270 euros el contrato de suministro y obras que modernizará toda la red semafórica del municipio. La nueva red incorporara tecnología LED, tele gestión remota y mejoras en seguridad, accesibilidad y eficiencia energética.

La concejalía ha resaltado que el sistema lleva más de 40 años de funcionamiento sin apenas cambios, y que con esta modernización “dejará atrás una red semafórica anticuada, ineficiente y con evidentes signos de desgaste.

Mónica Pastor, concejala de Seguridad Ciudadana, ha explicado que “la red semafórica de Orihuela es literalmente del siglo pasado. Tenemos equipos con más de 40 años de antigüedad, con piezas descatalogadas, mecanismos obsoletos y luminarias que apenas ofrecen visibilidad. Es una cuestión de seguridad ciudadana y también de responsabilidad afrontar este cambio de forma decidida”, ha manifestado Pastor.

El proyecto contempla un contrato mixto de suministro y obras, con un plazo de ejecución de 10 meses y sin división en lotes, garantizará una actuación homogénea y coordinada en todos los cruces y puntos de regulación semafórica del municipio.

Nuevos semáforos, mayor visibilidad y gestión inteligente,dicen desde el ayuntamiento

“Uno de los aspectos más relevantes del contrato es la incorporación de tecnología LED de última generación, que mejorará notablemente la visibilidad y reducirá el consumo energético. Los semáforos actuales, muchos de ellos con bombillas incandescentes, suponen un elevado coste de mantenimiento y fallan con frecuencia. El cambio a LED no solo mejora la seguridad, sino que reduce el gasto público en mantenimiento y energía. Es una inversión con retorno”, ha explicado la edil.

Además, el sistema incluirá telegestión remota, una herramienta que permitirá a los servicios técnicos municipales controlar y ajustar el funcionamiento de los semáforos desde una plataforma centralizada. Esto facilitará cambios en los ciclos según las necesidades del tráfico, detectar fallos de forma inmediata y actuar con rapidez ante cualquier incidencia. “Hasta ahora, si un semáforo fallaba, había que esperar a que alguien lo notificara y luego ir físicamente a comprobarlo. Con la telegestión tendremos control en tiempo real, algo impensable con los sistemas actuales”, ha destacado Pastor.

El proyecto abarca tanto los semáforos como todos los elementos asociados: controladores, módulos electrónicos, cableado, arquetas, software y hardware de control, y estructuras de soporte. Se trata de una actuación integral que no solo cambiará la apariencia de los cruces, sino que mejorará el corazón técnico del sistema.

La actuación incluye la renovación de todos los elementos técnicos del sistema: controladores, módulos electrónicos, cableado subterráneo, arquetas, software y hardware de control, y estructuras de soporte. Uno de los aspectos más relevantes será precisamente la renovación del cableado y las arquetas, que actualmente sufren filtraciones en episodios de lluvias intensas, provocando fallos en el funcionamiento de los semáforos. Esta intervención resolverá, según los responsables políticos del area, un problema recurrente en la red.

Se hace hincapie desde el ayuntamiento en las medidas de eficiencia , “ se ha previsto aprovechar los báculos existentes que se encuentren en buen estado estructural. Estos serán sometidos a tareas de mantenimiento y repintado, lo que permitirá reducir costes sin renunciar a una imagen renovada y homogénea en todos los cruces y puntos de regulación semafórica del municipio”.

Mejora de accessibilidad y la seguridad vial

Continúan desde el ayuntamiento que “la renovación también pondrá el foco en la accesibilidad, mejorando la señalización para personas con discapacidad visual mediante sistemas acústicos integrados en los nuevos dispositivos”. Pastor ha señalado que en el cumplimiento de las normativas de accesibilidad “vamos a hacer que los semáforos hablen, literalmente, para garantizar que todas las personas, independientemente de sus capacidades, puedan cruzar con seguridad”, ha afirmado la concejala.

“El diseño del nuevo sistema contempla una mejor distribución de los tiempos de paso peatonal y una regulación más eficaz del tráfico en horas punta, lo que tendrá un impacto directo en la seguridad y fluidez del transporte urbano. El proyecto responde también a una necesidad ampliamente expresada por los vecinos. En los últimos años se han registrado múltiples quejas relacionadas con semáforos fuera de servicio, poca visibilidad en cruces peligrosos e incluso accidentes evitables lo que provocaba que muchos vecinos, especialmente personas mayores conductores y familias con niños, se sentían inseguros en determinadas zonas”, ha finalizado Pastor.

It is a question of public safety and also of responsibility to tackle this change decisively,’ said Pastor.

The project involves a mixed supply and works contract, with a 10-month completion period and no division into lots, and will guarantee a homogeneous and coordinated action at all junctions and points of traffic light regulation in the municipality.

New traffic lights, greater visibility and intelligent management, say the council

‘One of the most important aspects of the contract is the incorporation of the latest generation of LED technology, which will significantly improve visibility and reduce energy consumption. The current traffic lights, many of which have incandescent bulbs, are expensive to maintain and frequently fail. Switching to LEDs not only improves safety, but also reduces public expenditure on maintenance and energy. It is an investment with a return’, explained the councillor.

In addition, the system will include remote telemanagement, a tool that will allow the municipal technical services to control and adjust the operation of the traffic lights from a centralised platform. This will facilitate changes in the cycles according to traffic needs, detect faults immediately and act quickly in the event of any incident. ‘Until now, if a traffic light failed, you had to wait for someone to report it and then physically go and check it. With remote management, we will have real-time control, something unthinkable with the current systems,’ said Pastor.

The project covers both the traffic lights and all the associated elements: controllers, electronic modules, wiring, manholes, control software and hardware, and support structures. It is a comprehensive project that will not only change the appearance of the junctions, but will also improve the technical heart of the system.

These will undergo maintenance and repainting, which will reduce costs without sacrificing a renewed and homogeneous image at all intersections and traffic light regulation points in the municipality’.

Improving accessibility and road safety

The council continues that ‘the renovation will also focus on accessibility, improving signalling for the visually impaired by means of acoustic systems integrated into the new devices’. Pastor pointed out that in compliance with accessibility regulations ‘we are going to make the traffic lights speak, literally, to ensure that all people, regardless of their abilities, can cross safely,’ said the councillor.

‘The design of the new system provides for a better distribution of pedestrian crossing times and a more efficient regulation of traffic at peak hours, which will have a direct impact on the safety and fluidity of urban transport. The project also responds to a need widely expressed by residents. In recent years there have been many complaints about traffic lights being out of order, poor visibility at dangerous junctions and even avoidable accidents, which meant that many residents, especially elderly drivers and families with children, felt unsafe in certain areas,’ Pastor concluded.
